Description
Monier de la Sizeranne 2006 from M. Chapoutier: a round and elegant Hermitage
Hermitage Monier de la Sizeranne from M. Chapoutier is a red wine produced from Syrah and produced in the Hermitage appellation. Certified in organic and biodynamic agriculture, the vines are grown on three distinct terroirs (the Bessards, Meal, Greffieux) which gives the wine its special qualities. The Bessards are composed of granite soil. Meal is a mixture of old alluvial terraces rich in gravel, stones and limestone. Greffuses has a lot of silt mixed with stones. Hermitage Monier de la Sizeranne 2006 from M. Chapoutier was matured for 12-14 months in oak barrels, with racking.
Hermitage Monier de la Sizeranne 2006 from M. Chapoutier reveals a deep red garnet colour. The nose develops aromas of raspberries and blackcurrants along with liquorice and some spices. After an attention-grabbing attack, the wine is round and elegant, offering concentrated and supple tannins. The finish develops notes of blackcurrant and raspberries.
