The 2008 Barolo Sarmassa from the domain Marchesi di Barolo is 100% Nebbiolo. The vineyard it comes from is located on a hill with a rich calcareous soil. This 2008 was aged in oak barrels for a year, which brings a structure to this wine and intensifies its already complex aromatic bouquet. The beautiful deep red coloured 2008 Barolo Sarmassa of Marchesi di Barolo gives off intense rose, vanilla, spices and liquorice notes. The palate is luscious and elegant with enhanced tannins, as well as well-integrated spices and wood. It is a distinguished and tannic wine with good ageing potential.
