A refined and intense white wine from California
The property
Founded in 2006 by the Franco-American couple Luc and Jodie Morlet, Morlet Family Vineyards enhances the prestigious terroirs of Sonoma County and Napa Valley. Heir to a Champagne winemaking lineage for five generations, Luc Morlet, a graduate in oenology from Reims, honed his skills at Château Dauzac in Margaux before settling in California alongside Jodie. Together, they first created vineyards dedicated to cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc before expanding their palette to other grape varieties such as pinot noir or chardonnay. Praised by the greatest critics, the wines of the estate enjoy unanimous recognition.
The wine
Handcrafted according to traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques, this wine is dedicated to Luc's wife, Jodie Morlet. It bears the name "My Sweet" or "Ma Douce".
The vineyard
Perched on the second ridge overlooking the Pacific Ocean, this prestigious vineyard of the Sonoma Coast extends over a remarkable terroir. The vines harmoniously benefit from the invigorating freshness of the sea breeze and the warm softness of the sunny mountain climate.
Vinification and aging
The harvest, carried out manually at night, preserves the freshness of the grapes, transported in small crates in a refrigerated truck. A meticulous sorting, bunch by bunch, guarantees optimal quality. The fermentation, carried out in barrels with indigenous yeasts, expresses the authenticity of the terroir. The aging includes a malolactic fermentation and aging on lees with stirring in French oak barrels. The wine is then bottled without fining or filtration.
