The estate

Founded in 1984, the House of Olivier Leflaive is based in Puligny-Montrachet, at the heart of Burgundy in France. Born from the boldness of Olivier Leflaive, who comes from a long line of winegrowers, this house stands out for its unique approach combining négociant activity and winemaking worthy of a prestigious estate. Today, management is led by Olivier Leflaive, alongside his daughter Julie Leflaive and Jean Soubeyrand. With a hundred hectares of vines vinified, including twenty-six under direct ownership, the house is renowned for its respect for terroir and its constant pursuit of finesse, perfectly illustrating the excellence of the region.

The vineyard

The Climat Les Fichots is a renowned terroir within the Pernand-Vergelesses appellation, located just below Corton. Facing north-west, the vines thrive at an altitude ranging between 230 and 250 metres. This vineyard, spanning just over eleven hectares, rests on deep clay-limestone soils. The vines, with an average age of twenty-two years, benefit from an oceanic climate with semi-continental influences, favouring gradual ripening of the berries.

The vintage

The year 2024 was marked by particularly challenging weather conditions. Constant humidity and record rainfall led to strong mildew pressure, impacting the vegetative cycle. However, the most well-drained soils managed to withstand these climatic challenges. A harvest carried out with precision and urgency ultimately resulted in berries of fine quality.

Winemaking and ageing

After manual harvesting and rigorous sorting, the grapes intended for the Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru "Fichots" 2024 are fully destemmed. Fermentation takes place in open vats with maceration lasting around fifteen days. Ageing then continues for sixteen months, including four months of bulk blending. The wine rests entirely in French oak barrels, with 25% new wood.

Grape variety

100% Pinot Noir.
