Characteristics and tasting tips for the Bourgogne Aligoté 2023 from Domaine Pierre Vincent
Tasting
Colour
The colour is a pale, light yellow, typical of Aligoté.
Nose
The bouquet is fragrant and expressive, revealing aromas of white fruit and citrus. The olfactory palette expresses the varietal's typicity with finesse.
Palate
The attack on the palate is fresh, straightforward and lively, underscored by a slight buttery note. The mineral structure asserts itself with elegance, coating the palate like a vibration of flint, accompanied by a lemony brightness. The finish lingers on lemony and refreshing notes, offering a harmonious balance between mineral tension and fruity sweetness.
Food and wine pairings
This Bourgogne Aligoté 2023 is the perfect white wine for an aperitif. It pairs wonderfully with seafood, oysters or a fish carpaccio. In the Burgundian tradition, it can also be served as a Kir with Crème de Cassis.
Storage and service
This Bourgogne Aligoté 2023 can be enjoyed immediately and will continue to evolve until around 2032.

The estate
Domaine Pierre Vincent was founded in July 2023 following the acquisition of Domaine Terres de Velle by the Lyon-based Solexia group. Pierre Vincent, a renowned oenologist and former Technical Director of Domaine de la Vougeraie and later General Manager of Domaine Leflaive, takes over the technical management alongside his partners Hervé Kratiroff and Éric Versini. This Burgundian estate spans 7 hectares across the finest terroirs of the Côte de Beaune, including Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru and several Premiers Crus. The estate is farmed organically and is in conversion to biodynamics. It produces sixteen cuvées, prioritizing purity, freshness and elegance.
The vineyard
This Bourgogne Aligoté stems from two plots in Auxey-Duresses in the Côte de Beaune: Sous le Châtelet (0.24 hectares, planted between 1932 and 1962) and Les Fontaines de Moule (0.2252 hectares, planted in 1949). The north-facing vines grow on clay-limestone soil. The vineyard is managed with soil tillage via ploughing followed by cover cropping, pursuing a respectful approach with limited use of inputs. Manual harvesting is accompanied by systematic sorting and strict selection of the harvest date based on ripeness checks.
Winemaking and ageing
Following a long and gentle pneumatic pressing, the Bourgogne Aligoté 2023 undergoes overnight settling. Alcoholic fermentation begins partly in stainless steel tanks before the wine is transferred to barrels for malolactic fermentation. Ageing takes place over 12 months in 50% old barrels, 10% new barrels and 40% ceramic amphorae. The wine is then racked into stainless steel tanks for a further 6 months of ageing before bottling.
