Querciabella : Batàr 2011

Tuscany - Toscana - White - 14° Querciabella Querciabella 2011 J1208/11
  • Parker : 89
The Querciabella Batar 2011 presents a pale golden yellow color. This Tuscan white wine offers an intense and persistent bouquet that starts with notes of tarte tatin, evolving to orange blossom and custard aromas. As the wine opens up there is a backdrop of minerals and an unmistakable steely quality. This Tuscan offers a luscious full-bodied, yet soft wine, with gentle tannins and balanced acidity. The Querciabella Batar 2011 reveals a lengthy and enjoyable finish with tropical fruits, a bit of minerality and licorice notes.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Agricola Querciabella's 2011 Batàr is made from organically and biodynamically farmed Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco in Greve in Chianti. Batàr is one of the best white wines to emerge from this Sangiovese-heavy corner of Chianti Classico. The bouquet shows ripe tones of apricot, honey, dried oregano and passion fruit. It offers a good level of complexity to keep your interest. A creamy mouthfeel is capped by spicy endnotes and toasted almond.
