The delicate elegance of a great wine from Piedmont
This delicate and elegant Piedmont wine is produced in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba in the province of Cuneo, in the heart of Piedmont in Italy. The Rocche dei Manzoni estate is one of those properties that have transformed the region's wine-growing landscape, subtly combining tradition and innovation. Since 1976, Valentino Migliorini has invested all of his energy to expressing the best of the Langhe territory, by experimenting with new vinification techniques to produce wines that have been recognised for their high quality.
A great Piedmont wine produced in the Langhe Rosso DOC appellation, Quatr Nass 2011 from the Rocche dei Manzoni estate brings together four of the most prestigious wines from the Barolo production area, keeping the Nebbiolo as the common denominator. Since the first vintage of 1996, Quatr Nas has managed to achieve an innovative blend of Nebbiolo da Barolo, Pinot Nero, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The fermentation period takes place over a period of two weeks, with the juice in close contact with the skins. This great wine is then aged 24 months in oak barrels and finishes ageing with 6 months in bottle before being released on the market.
Quatras from Rocche dei Manzoni has an intense ruby red colour. Noble and elegant, the nose reveals fine floral notes of dried rose, violets and almond blossoms. On the palate, it is a wine with an assertive elegance whose delicate nature can best be appreciated through a web of dense and silky tannins. The wine also offers a nice acidity, guaranteeing a great ageing potential. Sumptuous, the Quatras of the Domaine Rocche dei Manzonu is a wine to discover immediately, which can be kept in the cellar for another 15 to 20 years without losing anything of its superb character.
