An exceptional fruit brandy from the Vosges with intense aromas of Williams pear
The Nusbaumer Distillery – artisanal know-how since 1947
Founded in 1947 by Joseph Nusbaumer in Steige in the Alsace Vosges, the Nusbaumer distillery has been upholding French craftsmanship for over 75 years. Managed by Nicolas Lombard since 2018, as an independent family business with the "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" label, it distinguishes itself with four Holstein stills, allowing for the simultaneous distillation of grains, fruits, and herbs. Located at an altitude of 516 meters, Nusbaumer utilizes the biodiversity of the Vosges as well as pure spring water from the Climont schist layers to create authentic fruit brandies, liqueurs, and herbal spirits that purely reflect their Alsatian terroir.
Poire Williams Exception: a unique artisanal production
The Poire Williams Exception is distinguished by its exceptional production using red-skinned Williams pears – small, juicy, and particularly aromatic. The production process begins with a three-week maceration of the Williams pears in Williams pear brandy. This is followed by artisanal distillation and then reduction to drinking strength with spring water from Steige, naturally filtered through the Vosges schist. The entire process ends with cold filtration, ensuring the purity and aromatic intensity of this exceptional eau-de-vie. Bottling in an amber bottle and manual wax sealing testify to the artisanal care that goes into every bottle of this exceptional cuvée.
