A perfectly balanced Pays d'Auge calvados
The Roger Groult House, a family tradition from the Pays d'Auge
Established in the Pays d'Auge in France, the House of Roger Groult carries on a family tradition of producing exceptional calvados. Based at Clos de la Hurvanière, the estate has 27 hectares of orchards and more than 350 French red oak barrels for aging. The distillery practices double distillation over a wood fire, a traditional method that gives its eaux-de-vie a distinctive aromatic signature. Since March 2022, Estelle Groult has led the house as Chairwoman and Chief Executive Officer, supported by Charlotte Groult as Deputy Managing Director, while Jean-Roger Groult remains a director. This family succession ensures the continuity of an ancestral craft recognized internationally.
An exceptional calvados by Roger Groult
Made from cider apples from the Pays d'Auge, this 12-Year-Old Calvados benefits from double distillation over a wood fire, a traditional method that defines the house style. The eau-de-vie is then aged in old French red oak barrels, within a cellar of more than 350 barrels ranging in capacity from 110 to 13,000 liters. This 12-year aging gives this calvados a perfect balance between the lively fruitiness of young eaux-de-vie and the aromatic complexity of older blends.
