Yves Cuilleron : Les Deux Terrasses 2012

Rhone Valley - Crozes-Hermitage - Red - 13° Yves Cuilleron Yves Cuilleron 2012 F861/12
  • Parker : 90-92

For the first time, Domaine Cuilleron picked and vinified Syrah grapes from the appellation Crozes-Hermitage during the harvest of 2012. Two different plots were chosen. The first one on the place called Les Chassis to produce the cuvée  Les Deux Terrasses and the second on the place called Malfondière to produce the cuvée Laya. If Les Deux Terrasses is be the pure expression of the structure and power of the Syrah, Laya expresses its suppleness and fruit. Both new cuvees are available since spring 2014.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
A step up I think, the 2012 Crozes Hermitage Les Deux Terrasses is a rich, voluptuous and seamlessly textured beauty that exhibits rocking notes of purple fruits, crushed violets, plum, spice and underbrush. Pretty and seamless, it nevertheless continues to gain steam in the glass, boasting medium to full-bodied power and fine tannin. It should drink nicely for upwards of a decade.
