The Altesino Montosoli 2008 from the Brunello Montalcino wine region shows a deep ruby red color, tending to garnet red with ageing. It offers interesting aromas of black fruits, combined with liquorice and vanilla notes, hinted with a slight accent of pink peppercorn. This excellent Altesino Montosoli reveals a dry, warm, velvety flavor on the palate, ending with a warm note that lingers persuasively.

Wine Advocate-Parker : The estate's 2008 Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli shows a little more depth in its fruit than the straight bottling. Hints of tobacco, savory herbs and smoke add complexity in a Brunello that shows the virile, powerful side of the vintage. A solid, well-balanced wine, the 2008 should drink well for a number of years. At the same time, I can't help thinking Altesino would have been better off making just one wine in this vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020.
