The estate
While the Picard family's winemaking history began in 1951 in Burgundy, it was in the late 2000s that Francine Picard, the current owner and director, created the Au Pied du Mont Chauve estate. Located on the Côte de Beaune, this property covers 35 hectares of vines spread across three renowned villages. Cultivated according to biodynamic principles with certification obtained in 2019, the estate stands out for its environmentally respectful approach and minimal-intervention winemaking, thereby revealing the authenticity of its Burgundian terroirs.
The vineyard
The vineyard from which this Saint-Aubin originates rests on limestone soils dating from the Jurassic and Quaternary periods. The "Le Charmois" parcel benefits from an eastern exposure and an altitude varying between 250 and 350 metres. This steep slope, combined with a more northerly exposure, gives the vines, which are around fifty years old on average, a late maturity. The estate cultivates more than 5 hectares of Chardonnay there, applying rigorous biodynamic methods, encouraging natural grass cover and limiting yields to ensure soil health.
Grape variety
This wine is made from 100% Chardonnay.
