The elegance of a great Burgundy chardonnay crafted by Bruno Colin
The estate
Founded in 2003 following the division of the family estate, Domaine Bruno Colin flourishes at the heart of Burgundy, in Chassagne-Montrachet. Now run by Bruno Colin himself, the property covers a vineyard of approximately 9 hectares spread across prestigious appellations. The winegrower carries on an exceptional expertise through a meticulous micro-plot approach and integrated pest management viticulture. Renowned for the precision and purity of its wines, the estate has established itself as an essential benchmark of the Côte de Beaune, producing confidential cuvées that express all the richness of their terroirs.
The vineyard
The plot that gives rise to this Puligny-Montrachet is extremely confidential, measuring only 0.07 hectare. Planted in 2019, the vines take root in a clay-limestone soil within the lieu-dit "Le Cailleret", a highly sought-after sector adjoining the famous Montrachet grand cru. This exceptional zone covers only 50 ares and is shared between just four owners. The vineyard is cultivated according to organic principles, including mechanical soil work and regular ploughing to preserve the vitality of the terroir.
Vinification and ageing
The harvest is carried out by hand, accompanied by rigorous sorting directly in the vineyard to retain only the finest bunches. The making of the Puligny-Montrachet 1er cru "Les Demoiselles" 2024 continues with ageing for twelve months in 350-litre barrels, incorporating approximately 15% new oak. The wine then rests in vats for a further four to six months to perfect its harmony before bottling.
