The elegance and complexity of a Barbaresco wine
The estate
Although the family's history dates back to 1834, the Bruno Rocca estate was officially founded in 1978, the year of its first bottling under the family name. Located in Piedmont, in the heart of the prestigious Langhe region, this independent estate manages a vineyard of approximately 15 hectares. Today, Bruno Rocca runs the estate alongside his children, Luisa and Francesco. Refusing to rely on external consultants, the family favors a philosophy centered on quality, respect for the terroir, and the pursuit of elegance rather than power.
The vineyard
The vines flourish in the commune of Barbaresco, on terroirs whose geological origins date back to the Cenozoic era. Situated at an altitude ranging from 220 to 290 meters, the vineyard benefits from a unique microclimate, cooled by breezes from the Tanaro River. The soils, ideal for quality viticulture, are composed of a complex blend of white and blue-grey marl, calcareous clay, and sandy veins, offering a richness in micro-elements essential to the expression of this terroir.
Winemaking and aging
The making of the Barbaresco Currà 2022 is handled exclusively by the family, without any intervention from outside oenological consultants. Francesco and his father oversee the work in the cellar with a clear vision: to enhance the natural expression of the grapes by emphasizing finesse and the authenticity of the fruit.
Grape variety
This wine is made exclusively from the Nebbiolo grape variety. A noble grape variety par excellence of Piedmont, Nebbiolo gives this wine its remarkable tannic structure and exceptional aging potential.
