Description
The complexity and freshness of a Tuscan wine
The estate
In the shadow of the majestic Tuscan hills lies Casanova di Neri, a renowned winery where tradition blends harmoniously with innovation. The estate was founded in 1971 by Giovanni Neri and is now run by his son Giacomo, who has inherited the same love of wine and terroir as his father. Here, every bottle is a reflection of the year it was produced, and bears witness to a relentless quest for quality and authenticity. At Casanova di Neri, the history and heritage of the Montalcino region are at the heart of every product, as in the remarkable 2017 Brunello di Montalcino.
The vineyard
Brunello di Montalcino 2017 from Casanova di Neri is a Tuscan wine that stems from a vineyard covering around 63 hectares spread over several plots. The diversity of soils and microclimates offers a palette of nuances to the wines produced. The vineyard enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and mild winters. It benefits from a privileged geographical location that favours optimal ripening of the grapes, resulting in wines with a unique personality.
Winemaking and ageing
The bunches are hand-picked before being destemmed and selected using an optical selector. This is followed by spontaneous fermentation without the addition of yeast and maceration assisted by frequent pumping over. All this takes place in truncated cone-shaped steel vats at a controlled temperature for 25 days. The wine is aged for 42 months in casks. This Brunello di Montalcino wine is aged for 6 months in the bottle to produce this exceptional wine.
