Nose
The bouquet is wonderfully delicate, offering notes of white fruit such as pear, alongside an indulgent touch of fresh grape juice.
Palate
On the palate, this cuvée shows fine minerality and great freshness. It extends into a long, persistent finish marked by an acidity that is both fruity and gentle.
Food and wine pairings
Ideal as an aperitif, this white wine pairs beautifully with seafood or grilled fish. It is also a perfect match for aged goat's cheeses such as Charolais, as well as traditional regional dishes like escargots, gougères or jambon persillé.
Serving and ageing
To fully enjoy this Bourgogne Aligoté 2022, serve it chilled at a temperature between 9 and 12°C. While it is particularly delicious in its youth, it has the ageing potential to be cellared until around 2028.
The authentic expression of Burgundy's terroir by Maison Champy
The estate
Founded in 1720 by Edme Champy, Maison Champy is the oldest négociant house still operating in Burgundy. Located in the heart of Beaune, this historic house farms an estate of around 21 hectares. A pioneer of organic and biodynamic viticulture, it also stands out for its exceptional architectural heritage. Since 2016, the estate has belonged to the AdVini group, headed by Antoine Leccia, while technical management remains in the hands of oenologist Dimitri Bazas, ensuring continuity and excellence in the wines.
The vineyard
The grapes for this Burgundy wine come from carefully selected plots on the estate, located in the villages of Pernand-Vergelesses and Volnay. The vines thrive on clay-limestone soils, which are particularly well suited to expressing the freshness and minerality typical of this grape variety.
Winemaking and ageing
This Bourgogne Aligoté 2022 is crafted using traditional methods. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are carried out with natural yeasts. To preserve the aromatic purity and vibrancy of the fruit, the wine is aged entirely in stainless steel tanks.
Grape variety
This cuvée is made exclusively from Aligoté.
