At Chateau Carbonnieux, the harvest started at the beginning of September for white grapes (Sauvignon Blanc, then Semillon), and at the end of the month for red grapes (Merlot, then Cabernet Sauvignon). After a very complicated summer and thanks to a sunny late-autumn, the maintenance of the sanitary conditions allowed waiting for the optimum ripeness of each plot. This 2014 Carbonnieux is very expressive, with a vibrant black fruit making the whole scrumptious. The palate is solid on a tannic structure with fine-grained sappy (very noble), silky and elegant tannins. This Pessac-Leognan has style and great potential. This Cru Classé can almost be seen as an equivalent of the fine 2005, 2009 and 2010 vintages.
