Château de Chamirey : Mercurey Village 2005

All Vintages of this wine

A powerful and long white wine from Mercurey Village

The Mercurey Village White of Château de Chamirey is a Chardonnay white wine produced in the Mercurey Village appellation. The vineyard is planted on a terroir of clay-limestone soils, predominantly limestone. The wine is matured in oak barrels (of which 30% are new) with one stirring of the lees per week.

At tasting, the 2005 Mercurey Village Blanc of Château de Chamirey reveals a magnificent pale yellow colour with bright greenish reflections. Combining finesse and elegance, the wine releases fragrances of flowers and white fruits on subtly woody notes. Balanced on the palate, the wine is powerful, long and sweet, with flavours of sweet spices and cinnamon.
