Description
A mineral and complex Graves white wine
The estate
Created in 1966, Château de Chantegrive is a member of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux. Certified HVE level 3, this family property manages its vineyard with passion and precision in order to produce great Graves wines.
The vineyard
The vineyard at the origin of "Caroline" 2022 from Château de Chantegrive, the white wine of this Graves estate, stretches across 17 hectares of vines planted on gravel, pebbles, fine sand and clay-limestone soils.
The vintage
The mild and dry winter conditions favoured an early budburst, offset by episodes of spring frost at the beginning of April which had a slight impact on yields. A quality flowering preceded an even veraison as well as a rapid ripening of the grapes before a summer with intense weather conditions that augured a beautifully fresh, great vintage!
Winemaking and ageing
Harvested by hand, the grapes were sorted twice on a table. Pneumatic pressing under nitrogen and rigorous selection of the juice. Static cold settling for 24 hours followed by fermentation in barrels on fine lees (50% new barrels), as well as ageing for 9 months, accompanied by regular stirring of the lees.
Blend
Sémillon (50%)
Sauvignon Blanc (45%)
Sauvignon Gris (5%).

With its beautiful pale yellow colour, this Graves white wine delights with its freshness, despite extreme summer weather conditions. Scents of passionfruit, lime blossom, honeysuckle and pink grapefruit mingle harmoniously until a finish that combines persistence, power and roundness.
