The Château de la Maltroye is the proprietor of an about 60 year old Chardonnay vineyard, of 0.29 hectares in the South of Chassagne: Les Grandes Ruottes. This cuvee was aged in oak barrels, of which 60% were new barrels, for 12 months. The straw-coloured 2008 Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Grandes Ruchottes reveals a very mineral nose with white flower notes and fruity aromas such as peach. On the palate, it is strong, dense and incredibly long.
