Château Grand Mayne 2014

2014 Saint-Emilion, Grand Cru Classé from Bordeaux

The 2014 Grand Mayne is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. On the nose, this Saint-Emilion is very aromatic on fresh black fruit notes. The swirl brings out the empyreumatic character (marked by the ageing process) linked with the wooden notes without hiding the fruit. The palate of this Grand Cru Classé reveals a mineral hint (hint that might be linked with the limestone scattered on the soils and subsoils of the property which is located at the foot of the Saint-Emilion plateau) and then develops in a straight, sappy but not aggressive tannic structure. The finish is quite long on a fruity accent. This wine was skilfully vinified.
