The property

Owned by the Castéja family since 2005, the Château La Croix du Casse is a very serious reference of the Pomerol appellation, on the right bank of Bordeaux. Equipped with efficient tools and benefiting from an exceptional vineyard, the property stands out for its great Pomerol wines full of charm and seduction expressing all the typicity of the appellation.

The vineyard

Located at the southern tip of the Pomerol plateau, the vineyard of Château La Croix du Casse extends over a terroir characteristic of the appellation, consisting of gravels and ancient sands with a sub-layer containing a significant proportion of iron crasse.

Vinification and aging

Fermentation and maceration for about 4 weeks in stainless steel tanks before aging for 16 to 20 months in barrels (of which 50% are new).

Blend

Merlot (91%)
Cabernet franc (9%).
