Chateau La Fleur Peyrabon 2016: a Pauillac with wonderful tension

Chateau La Fleur Peyrabon is a red wine produced in the Pauillac appellation. This Cru Bourgeois, covering just over 7 hectares, is planted with vines that are on average 20 years old. The terroir is composed of sandy gravel on clay subsoil. The 2016 harvest took place in two phases. Merlot was harvested from September 29th to October 6th, while Cabernet Sauvignon was picked on October 12th, 15th and 18th.

Chateau La Fleur Peyrabon 2016 develops lively floral fragrances. The wine is very freshmedium-bodied and extremely elegant. The tannins are beautiful, as is the tension onthe finish. This can be enjoyed throughout 2027-2032.

This comment aims to describe the wine’s current properties. Over time, the wine will develop other tasting qualities.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2016 La Fleur Peyrabon has a perfumed, floral bouquet not a million miles away from Margaux. I appreciate the definition and freshness here. The palate is medium-bodied, not a powerful Pauillac but very elegant. The tannins here seem very fine and there is wonderful tension towards the finish. Maybe not a long-term propositionùit may need more bodyùbut it is a beautiful wine that should give a lot of pleasure over the next 10-15 years.
