The estate
First Cru Classé of Sauternes in 1855, the Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is among the most prestigious names of the iconic sweet wine appellation located south of the Bordeaux region.
The vineyard
Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey boasts an exceptional terroir with a 41-hectare vineyard exclusively dedicated to the production of its First Cru Classé of Sauternes.
Vinification and aging
3 vertical pressings. Settling for 12 hours in thermoregulated vats. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in barrels (including 30% new) for 30 to 35 days. Aging for 18 to 20 months in barrels. Racking every month for the first year and then every 3 months for the second year.
Blend
Sémillon (90%), sauvignon blanc (8%) and muscadelle (2%).

Tasting
Nose
Concentrated, the nose combines notes of apricot, fig jam, touches of almonds and roasted nuts.
Palate
Structured, the palate is medium-bodied with a lively acidity. The palate reveals a beautiful tension as well as an intense minerality.
Cellaring
The Château Lafaurie Peyraguey 2005 can be cellared until around 2055 to develop its full aromatic palette.
