Description
Clos l'Eglise 2008: the subtle complexity of a Pomerol
2008 was noted as a classic vintage in Bordeaux, so the Clos l'Eglise 2008 is not lacking in character, expressing all the authenticity and complexity of the great terroir of Pomerol. A Grand Vin from the estate of Sylviane Garcin-Cathiard, the Clos l'Eglise 2008 is a fine illustration of what Pomerol has to offer, with 35-year-old vines on average for Merlot, and among the oldest Cabernets Franc vines in the appellation (45 years).
Clos l'Eglise 2008 has a deep and dense red ruby colour. The nose opens with the sweetness of small fruits like blueberry and has delicate notes of liquorice and mocha. The palate reveals a beautiful aromatic intensity that is voluminous with perfectly integrated and silky tannins. The finish has a pleasant length. A beautiful vintage that represents the terroir of Pomerol and that promises good ageing potential.
