Description
The finesse and aromatic richness of a Corton red wine
The estate
Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, in Meursault, Domaine du Château de Meursault is one of Burgundy's most iconic estates. Boasting a century-old history, Château de Meursault is a true gem among the finest Meursault wines, currently owned by the Halley family.
The vineyard
The Grand Cru Rognet 2021 by Domaine du Château de Meursault is a Corton wine that stems from a 12-acre vineyard located in the middle of the hill. The vines enjoy an east/south-east exposure and lie on a warm, stony soil composed of clay and brown limestone.
Vinification and ageing
Following the harvest, the grapes are destemmed. Cold pre-fermentation maceration for 15 to 18 days in vats, followed by fermentation for 5 to 6 days. The wine is aged for 15 to 18 months in new barrels (40%), second fill (30%) and third fill (30%).
The blend
Pinot Noir (100%).
