Sylvain Pataille has been passionate about the world of wine since he was a young boy. In 1999, he founded the eponymous estate while working as a consultant oenologist. The story of Domaine Sylvain Pataille started when he rented one hectare of vines, however the terroir has gradually grown over the years. Sylvain Pataille devoted himself fully to the estate from 2001 onwards, with the passion and ambition to produce fine Burgundy wines.
From one hectare in 1999, the vineyard from 2 to 4 hectares between 2000 and 2001, reaching 10 hectares in 2002. Since 2008, the Domaine Sylvain Pataille vineyard has been managed organically and is Ecocert accredited. It now covers 17 hectares.
