Description

A Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru wine marked by finesse and balance

The estate

Since 1825, the Domaine Faiveley has been located in Nuits-Saint-Georges, at the heart of the prestigious Côte de Nuits. Managed by the Faiveley family, this estate is among the most renowned in Burgundy. It embodies a successful alliance between respect for viticultural traditions and modernity. The vineyard is managed according to the principles of sustainable viticulture, mindful of preserving biodiversity. Thanks to a range of wines combining precision, balance, and finesse, Domaine Faiveley asserts itself as an essential reference in Burgundy.

The vineyard

With over 120 hectares of vines spread between the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune, and the Côte Chalonnaise, Domaine Faiveley boasts a remarkable viticultural heritage. Its plots classified as Grands Crus and Premiers Crus offer a privileged terrain for the emblematic grape varieties of Burgundy.

The wine

This Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is born on a remarkable terroir located in Gevrey-Chambertin. This cuvée comes from a 0.81-hectare plot, facing east, and planted on shallow soils with a predominance of clay-limestone. The entire appellation covers about 30 hectares, but this cuvée stands out for the unique identity of its terroir.

Vinification and aging

The grapes, hand-harvested, undergo a short pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation takes place at low temperature, over a period of 15 to 18 days. The wine is then aged for 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels, a third of which are new, in the estate's 19th-century vaulted cellars.

Grape variety

100% Pinot Noir.
