Tasting
Colour
This Puligny-Montrachet Village 2025 displays a pale yellow colour with green highlights, characteristic of the great dry white wines of the Côte de Beaune.
Nose
The nose opens with floral and citrus notes, supported by hints of white-fleshed fruit and a mineral touch reminiscent of gunflint.
Palate
The palate is taut and saline, driven by a lively acidity that underscores the minerality of the limestone terroir, before finishing on a fresh, persistent note.
Food and Wine Pairing
This Puligny-Montrachet Village 2025 pairs beautifully with fine fish and seafood, as well as white meats served with a creamy or mushroom sauce.
Serving and Cellaring
The Puligny-Montrachet Village 2025 by Jean-Charles Fagot is best enjoyed served between 12 and 14°C, in a white Burgundy wine glass. It can be appreciated from bottling, but will continue to evolve favourably until around 2032.
A Puligny-Montrachet Village true to the minerality of the Côte de Beaune
The Estate
The Jean-Charles Fagot estate is a family-run property based in Corpeau, in Burgundy, between the villages of Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. Jean-Charles Fagot, who now runs the estate, is also the innkeeper of the Auberge du Vieux Vigneron in Corpeau, where he showcases his own cuvées. The estate farms its vineyard using lutte raisonnée (sustainable viticulture) and complements its production with a négoce activity, allowing it to offer an extensive range of Côte de Beaune appellations.
The Vineyard
This Puligny-Montrachet Village comes from vines located in the commune of Puligny-Montrachet, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. The estate tends its vines according to the principles of lutte raisonnée, limiting phytosanitary treatments to the strict minimum in order to preserve the natural balance of the limestone terroir characteristic of the appellation.
Winemaking and Ageing
The Puligny-Montrachet Village 2025 by Jean-Charles Fagot is made from hand-harvested grapes, then vinified using a traditional approach. Ageing takes place in oak foudres, giving this dry white wine structure while preserving the freshness and minerality inherent to the Puligny-Montrachet terroir.
Grape Variety
This wine is made exclusively from Chardonnay, the king of grape varieties in the Puligny-Montrachet appellation, which expresses itself here with precision on the limestone soils of the Côte de Beaune.
