Description
A white Pernand-Vergelesses wine with a seductive richness and precision by Jean Chartron
The estate
Founded in 1859 by the cooper, Jean-Edouard Dupard, Domaine Jean Chartron watches over an exceptional vineyard that spreads out innto the finest growths in Puligny, Burgundy.
The vineyard
Domaine Jean Chartron, managed by Jean-Michel Chartron, currently stretches accross 14 hectares of vines that are managed in an uncertified organic manner. The vineyards are classified as Premier Cru and Grand Cru, making them an exceptional part of Burgundy's winegrowing heritage.
The wine
This 2018 Pernand-Vergelesses Village by Jean Chartron, named "Belles Filles" until the 2017 vintage, stems from vines planted on clay-limestone soils.
Vinification and ageing
Fermentation is carried out in oak barrels (30% of which are new and 70% are 1 to 5 years old). The wine is first aged in barrels on fine lees for 12 months before ageing in vats for a further 4 months.
