Description
A powerful and elegant Burgundy red wine
The estate
Founded in 1859, the Maison Louis Jadot has established itself as a key reference in Burgundy. The family adventure began with the purchase of a parcel of the famous Beaune Premier Cru des Ursules in 1826. With know-how passed down from generation to generation and a trading activity granting it international renown, Louis Jadot is committed to offering a wide range from regional appellations to Grands Crus. Since September 2022, Thomas Seiter (formerly Bouchard Père et Fils) has held the presidency, assisted by Thibault Gagey as managing director.
The vineyard
The Chambertin Grand Cru of Louis Jadot comes from a prestigious terroir located in the north of the Côte de Nuits. The vines flourish on limestone and clay soils, on gentle slopes, exposed to the east.
Vinification and aging
The hand-picked harvest is carefully transported in small crates to preserve the integrity of the berries. They then ferment in open wooden or stainless steel vats, with two punchings down per day. Aging continues for 18 months in barrels from the house's cooperage.
Blend
This Chambertin Grand Cru 2020 from Louis Jadot is 100% Pinot Noir.
