Description
The Refinement of a Burgundy Red Wine
The Estate
Founded in 1859, the Maison Louis Jadot stands as a historical reference in Burgundy. The family adventure began in 1826 with the acquisition of the famous Beaune Premier Cru des Ursules. Thanks to a flourishing trading activity, the house has gained an international reputation, notably across the Atlantic. Today, Louis Jadot offers a wide range of wines, from regional appellations to Grands Crus, making Burgundy accessible to all fine wine enthusiasts. Since September 2022, Thomas Seiter (formerly of Bouchard Père et Fils) has presided over the house, supported by Thibault Gagey as managing director.
The Vineyard
The Monthélie 1er Cru “Champs Fulliot” from Domaine Louis Jadot comes from a vineyard over 30 years old, located near the Volnay Clos des Chênes, slightly lower on the slope, with a southeast exposure.
Vinification and Aging
After manual harvesting, the grapes are carefully sorted and then destemmed. Fermentation takes place in open vats, either wood or stainless steel, for 3 to 4 weeks, with two punch-downs per day. The aging lasts 18 months in barrels, about one-third of which are new.
Blending
This Monthélie 1er Cru "Champs Fulliot" Domaine Louis Jadot 2022 is 100% Pinot Noir.
