The Estate
Founded in 1797 by Jean Latour in Aloxe-Corton, Louis Latour remains an independent family estate led since 1999 by Louis-Fabrice Latour, representing the 11th generation. The largest owner of Grands Crus in the Côte d'Or with iconic plots such as Corton and Chevalier-Montrachet, this Burgundy house extends across the Côte d'Or, Chablis, and Beaujolais. Its uniqueness lies in its exclusively Burgundian expansion strategy and the maintenance of accessible prices despite exceptional land value appreciation.
The Vineyard
The "Les Chatelots" climat takes its name from the Latin "Castellum," meaning water reservoir. Located in the Chambolle-Musigny appellation, this limestone terroir stretches across a village in the Côte de Nuits, comprising 180 hectares of vines and 24 Premier Crus. The clay-limestone soils give the wines a delicately perfumed and harmonious signature, characteristic of this renowned appellation.
Vinification and Aging
Traditional vinification in open tanks with complete malolactic fermentation. Aging lasts 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels from the Louis Latour cooperage, with 40% new oak and medium toast, allowing the wine to develop its complexity while preserving the expression of the terroir.
Grape variety
Pinot Noir (100%).
