An exceptional Bourgogne white wine from Louis Latour, a jewel of the Côte de Beaune

The estate

Founded in 1797 by Jean Latour in Aloxe-Corton, the Maison Louis Latour has upheld a Burgundian family tradition for over two centuries. Owner of the most extensive domain of Grands Crus in the Côte d'Or, the house notably owns emblematic parcels on Corton and Chevalier-Montrachet. Its in-house cooperage and its approach combining traditional heritage and modern innovation distinguish this independent family estate, led by the Latour family who pass down the first name "Louis" through generations.

The vineyard

The vineyard of Montrachet covers 8 hectares spread between the communes of Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. Louis Latour's parcel covers 0.80 hectare located in the north-central part of the appellation, in the commune of Puligny-Montrachet. The vines, averaging 40 years old, are rooted in a subsoil composed of chalk, gravel, and limestone. Hand harvesting allows the collection of exceptional grapes with a controlled yield of 35 hl/ha.

Vinification and aging

The vinification follows traditional methods with fermentation in oak barrels and a full malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place over 8 to 10 months in 100% new barrels from the Louis Latour cooperage, made from French oak with a medium toast that brings finesse and complexity to the wine.

Grape variety

100% Chardonnay, the emblematic grape variety of Burgundy's great white wines, finds its most noble and refined expression on the exceptional Montrachet terroir.
