The Hermitage Monier de la Sizeranne of Chapoutier results from a blend of different terroirs situated from west to east: Les ssBessards, Les Méal and Les Greffieux. Matured from 12 to 14 months in oak barrels, this wine displays a very good aging potential and a powerful structure. Of a garnet red color rimmed with tile red reflections, the Monier de la Sizeranne 2004 offers at first a luscious nose, with aromas of raspberry, blackcurrant and blackberry. After a slight aeration, more complex aromas appear like leather, oak, vanilla and spices as well. On the palate, the Hermitage is round, elegant, with well integrated tannins and a persistent finish on pepper and cherry.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
More stuffing than I thought last year appears in the 2004 Ermitage La Sizeranne. This wine reveals a dark ruby/purple color, elegant notes of road tar, black currants, sweet incense, and relatively lush tannin for the vintage.
