Monteverro : Monteverro 2008

Tuscany - Toscana - Red - 15° Monteverro Monteverro 2008 J1169/08
  • Parker : 93
The 2008 Monteverro is of a quite intense dark black colour with a ruby rim.The nose is complex and very intense. The aromas are dark fruit like blackberries and black currant with hints of rosemary, dark cherry liquor, black liquorice and cigar. The palate is structured with integrated tannins, with velvety blueberries and black berry jam.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2008 Monteverro is a superb wine from the Tuscan coast. Dark wild cherries, sweet herbs, mocha, espresso and spices are some of the notes that flow from this beautifully balanced, large-scaled red. This shows marvelous depth and nuance, not to mention exceptional harmony. Monteverro is Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot that spent 18 months in French oak. This is an impressive debut. Ideally the wine needs another year or two for the French oak to settle down. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2026.
