The 2008 Pian delle Vigne is a 100 % Sangiovese of the Brunello di Montalcino wine region. At the first sight the wine shows a brilliant ruby red color with garnet highlights. The aromas display a complexity of raspberries, cherries, together with light suggestions of tobacco and leather. On the palate the wine is smooth, thanks to perfectly ripe grapes and displays aromas of sweet notes of red berry fruit and spices. While tasting the Pian delle Vigne Antinori is ample with a silky texture, and it has an elegant and varietal personality.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Antinori's 2008 Brunello di Montalcino Pian delle Vigne is loaded with super-ripe dark cherries, plums, incense, hard candy, kirsch, tobacco and smoke. A rich, layered Brunello, the 2008 comes across as a bit forced in the cellar, with copious French oak and a level of sweetness that is distracting. Pian delle Vigne remains a bit of a work in progress within the Antinori portfolio. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2023.
