Description
An exceptional Champagne revealing the soul of Pinot Meunier in Cumières
The estate
Founded in 1864 by Alfred Gratien in Saumur before establishing itself in Champagne, this historic house covers 1 hectare in the Côte des Blancs in Épernay. Owned by the Henkell & Freixenet group, it is headed by Nicolas Jaeger, representing the fourth family generation as cellar master.
The vineyard
The Clos Le Village comes from a walled vineyard located in the heart of the village of Cumières, planted with old Pinot Meunier vines. This exceptional plot benefits from a Premier Cru terroir particularly suited to the expression of this grape traditionally used in a Champagne Blend.
Grape variety
This Clos Le Village Cumières 2018 from Alfred Gratien is a 100% Pinot Meunier.
