The producer
The Cossy family has been producing grapes for other Champagne houses since 1764, and in the 1950s, they decided to sell the champagne from their vineyards under their own name.
Family-owned, the Cossy Champagne House is headed by Sophie Cossy, who took over the running of the estate at the age of 26, following her father’s passing.
Sophie Cossy is passionate about producing sophisticated champagnes which offer new tasting experiences.
The vineyard
The Cossy Champagne House watches over a sustainable 7-hectare vineyard, spread over 34 different plots located to the south of Reims.
The wine
Cossy's Élégance Brut Rosé is made from vineyards located in the Montagne de Reims. This champagne is produced based on the 2016 harvest, supplemented by reserve wines from 2015 and 2014. The dosage is 8.5 g/litre.
The blend
Élégance Brut Rosé by Cossy comprises a blend of Pinot Noir (60%), Pinot Meunier (30%) and Chardonnay (10%), completed by red wine from Jouy-lès-Reims (20%).
The tasting
Colour
The colour is a beautiful salmon colour with subtle copper highlights. The effervescence is lively and refined.
Nose
This champagne opens with fruity and woody fragrances. When aired, a beautiful minerality blends with floral notes (peony, carnation) and lactic notes.
Palate
A delicious and refreshing attack gives way to a creamy, balanced and caressing mouth.
Service
For an optimal tasting experience, serve at 10°C.
