Description
A great vintage champagne with an enticing complexity and sophistication
The estate
In the shadows of its 3-kilometre-long underground galleries of Gallo-Roman origin, the exceptional Joseph Perrier Champagne House perpetuates a know-how and respect for tradition which has been transmitted from generation to generation. Each plot is vinified separately so that the identity of each of the Champagne terroirs can be expressed, with bespoke ageing processes.
The wine
Joseph Perrier's Josephine is an exceptional champagne produced only as a result of exceptional years. It all stems from a father's wish to give his daughter the most beautiful champagne blend for her wedding.
Made from a selection of First and Second Growths in the Champagne region (Ambonnay, Sacy, Cumières, Bergères-lès-Vertus, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger), Joseph Perrier's Joséphine 2014 celebrates the 175th anniversary of this cuvée. To mark this special occasion, the Joseph Perrier Champagne house has teamed up with the French artist, Jordane Saget, whose chalk lines resonate with the house’s chalk cellars, in which this exceptional cuvée was kept. The dosage for this champagne is 5g/L.
The vintage
A rainy autumn season came before a mild winter, which advanced an early budding of the vines. Subsequently, a very dry spring, except the month of May, was offset by a lot of rainfall in July and August. The very mild end of summer, marked by hot, sunny and very dry weather, was ideal and helped to refine the ripening process of the grapes.
Blend
Joseph Perrier's Joséphine 2014 comprises a blend of Chardonnay (60%) and Pinot Noir (40%)

Tasting
Colour
This champagne has a shining, beautifully golden colour.

Food and wine pairing
Joseph Perrier's Joséphine 2014 is an ideal match with pan-seared langoustines, mango carpaccio or Iberian pork pluma served with crunchy vegetables.
