Description

Characteristics and Tasting Notes of Joseph Perrier Cuvée Royale Extra Brut Vintage 2015

Tasting

Appearance
The appearance reveals a sparkling golden hue enhanced by elegant silvery highlights.

Nose
The bouquet opens with fruity notes of blood orange that evolve into aromas of dried fruit. Floral nuances of eucalyptus mingle with pastry notes, lifted by a hint of pepper and spice.

Palate
The attack is lively with notes of ginger that develop into a saline minerality. The finish, both honeyed and delicate, offers beautiful length on the palate.

Food and wine pairings

This champagne pairs perfectly with sesame-seared tuna fillet with combava zest, served with fried rice and seasonal vegetables.

Serving and cellaring

This cuvée is best enjoyed at a temperature between 10 and 12°C. It is recommended to chill the bottle in an ice bucket for 20 minutes before serving.

A vintage Brut champagne combining richness and freshness

The estate

Founded in 1825 by Joseph Perrier in Châlons-en-Champagne, this family-owned Champagne house cultivates 21 hectares of vineyards and owns historic cellars stretching 3 kilometers, carved into ancient Gallo-Roman chalk pits. Under the direction of Benjamin Fourmon, the sixth generation of the family, Joseph Perrier shines thanks to its Cuvée Royale, once enjoyed at British courts under Queen Victoria and King Edward VII.

The vineyard

Cuvée Royale Brut Vintage is crafted from a blend of prestigious crus including Sacy, Ambonnay, Avize, Chouilly, and Ay, iconic terroirs of Champagne.

The vintage

The year 2015 was marked by a warm, dry climate punctuated by intense rain episodes, creating unique conditions that favored the expression of the terroir and the concentration of aromas in the grapes.

Vinification and aging

An exceptional 108-month aging on lees in the House's historic cellars imparts aromatic complexity and refined texture. The dosage of this Brut is 3 g/L.

Blend

55% Chardonnay, bringing finesse and elegance, and 45% Pinot Noir, providing structure and power to the whole.
