Tasting Notes

Color

A beautiful white color, bright and crystalline, reveals itself in the glass.

Nose

Deep and wonderfully complex, the bouquet reveals aromas of citrus and orchard fruits, delicately highlighted by subtle floral touches.

Palate

The palate stands out for its tension and crystalline purity. It offers a creamy texture that envelops flavors of lemon zest and green apple candy, all supported by a mineral, stony backbone with lovely freshness.

This wine pairs beautifully with fresh seafood such as oysters or scallops, as well as with rich shellfish accompanied by buttery sauces. It also enhances roasted poultry, white meats in delicate sauces, or fried dishes and ceviche preparations.

Serving and Aging

This cuvée is a wine of great depth that calls for particular attention when tasting, in order to fully grasp all its nuances and complexity.

Other Characteristics

This extra brut Champagne stands out for its very low dosage of 4 grams per liter.

The Historical Complexity and Authenticity of a Champagne Wine from Laherte Frères

The Estate

Founded in 1889 by Jean-Baptiste Laherte, the Laherte Frères house is located in Chavot-Courcourt, at the heart of the Coteaux Sud d'Épernay, in Champagne. Now led by Aurélien Laherte, representing the seventh generation since 2005, the estate has established itself as a leading figure of the progressive Champagne movement. The domaine cultivates its vines with deep respect for nature, favoring organic and biodynamic methods. With a fierce determination to preserve the authenticity of its terroirs, Laherte Frères crafts pure and sincere wines, celebrated for their remarkable precision and distinctive identity.

The Vineyard

This Champagne wine comes from a single 1.7-hectare plot located on the slopes of Chavot. Planted in 2003, this vineyard has the exceptional distinction of bringing together the seven historic grape varieties of the appellation on a single terroir, grown jointly in an environmentally respectful approach.

The Blend

This cuvée is based on the principle of a perpetual reserve, or solera method, initiated in 2005. The blend is composed of 50% of the most recent base vintage, 2021, and 50% of reserve wines from all previous harvests accumulated since 2005.

Winemaking and Aging

The grapes are harvested and pressed together using traditional wooden presses. Alcoholic fermentation takes place naturally with indigenous yeasts in oak barrels, followed by complete malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged on fine lees with regular bâtonnage to develop its texture, before being hand-disgorged.
