Wine Spectator

Bruce Sanderson

Fresh and lively for the category, with grapefruit, gingerbread and honey notes filling out the rich texture. It's well-balanced and lingers with a honey and light toast aftertaste. Drink now. 500 cases imported.

Falstaff

Falstaff

Light yellow gold with silver reflections and a persistent mousse. Floral nuances of blossom honey and jasmine, ripe peach and a hint of orange blossom make for an inviting bouquet. Juicy and elegant on the palate with further nuances of blood oranges and mandarins alongside a finely interwoven sweetness and some pleasant tropical notes. It's finely structured, with a subtle honeyed touch on the finish. (PM).

The NV Champagne Rich Demi Sec sees 34 grams per liter dosage and is fresh with equal parts Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier. Aromas of fresh croissant dough, white peach, and orange blossoms are followed by a medium-bodied, fresh style of wine. Refined with a precise feel, it’s a lovely style that’s often neglected but is an irreplaceable and fantastic tool to pair with a wide range of desserts, such as a summer fruit tart, spicy foods, and cheese. It’s long on the palate, with a clean finish and a delicate, pure sweetness throughout. Drink 2023-2033.

La RVF

A palette focused on orchard white fruits, juicy pear, the slight austerity of quince, and a vegetal backbone from the dominant vintage that shapes the aromas

Wine Enthusiast

Roger Voss

Off-dry, this Champagne is a fine example of the Demi-Sec style. With its richness and ripe white fruits and touches of honey, the wine is well developed and ready to drink.

A gourmet champagne with an ideal balance between sugar and acidity

The estate Founded in 1849, the Champagne Pol Roger House has perpetuated for 5 generations the excellence of its expertise and its perpetual quest for perfection. An essential reference beyond borders, Maison Pol Roger is the official supplier to the British Crown as well as to the finest starred restaurants.

Being among the last houses to still practice hand riddling of champagne bottles on its entire production, Pol Roger holds its singularity in its style expressing with authenticity the full potential of exceptional champagne terroirs.

The vineyard

Maison Pol Roger watches over an exceptional vineyard of 92 hectares of vines, including notably the finest parcels of the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs, emblematic terroirs of Champagne.

The wine

Launched in 2001, the Rich cuvée comes from a rigorous selection of 30 champagne crus. 25% of reserve wines are used. Pinot noir, mainly from the Montagne de Reims, brings structure, body and power. Pinot meunier, from the Vallée de la Marne and Épernay, offers freshness, roundness and fruitiness. Chardonnay, from Épernay and the Côte des Blancs, adds aromatic complexity, finesse, elegance and lightness.

The dosage of this cuvée is 34g/l.

Vinification and aging

The grapes are gently pressed, then undergo two cold settling processes (6°C) for 24 hours. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at low temperature (18°C) in stainless steel tanks, where each grape variety and cru is vinified separately. Malolactic fermentation is carried out on all wines. After blending and bottling, the second fermentation and aging take place in the cellars at 33 meters depth. The bottles are riddled by hand before disgorgement and dosage, then rest for a minimum of three months before commercialization.
