A contemporary edition for a renowned champagne by Veuve Clicquot
The estate
Founded in 1772 in Reims, Veuve Clicquot is a true institution in Champagne. Its history is marked by the boldness of Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin, a pioneer who revolutionised local winemaking techniques. Now owned by the LVMH group and led by Thomas Mulliez, the house upholds its values of excellence, innovation and optimism. With an estate spanning 390 hectares, it stands as a global leader, blending a rich historical heritage with a resolutely contemporary vision.
The vineyard
The estate extends over approximately 390 hectares spread across the finest terroirs of Champagne, including the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne, the Côte des Blancs and the Côte des Bar. Nearly 95% of these lands are classified as Premier and Grand Cru. The vines, cultivated according to sustainable practices, thrive particularly on cool chalky soils that give the grapes all their finesse and structure.
A contemporary version of the champagne bucket designed by Yinka Ilori
Veuve Clicquot offers a modern reinterpretation of the champagne bucket, designed to combine aesthetics and functionality. Sustainable and portable, the case that accompanies a bottle of Brut Yellow Label keeps the bottle chilled for around 90 minutes. Easy to carry thanks to its mobile handle, it is mainly made from recycled materials and produced using 3D knitting technology, ensuring robustness and longevity.
This creation is signed by Yinka Ilori, a British-Nigerian artist, designer and entrepreneur based in London. His visual universe, marked by bold colours and shapes, draws on his dual heritage to renew the narratives of contemporary design. Inspired by Nigerian culture and its oral tradition, he addresses a variety of themes that resonate with an international audience, with the central idea that art and design must remain accessible to all.
Grape varieties
Brut Yellow Label is the result of a blend built mainly around Pinot Noir (50 to 55%). Chardonnay (28 to 33%) brings a touch of elegance and minerality, while Meunier (15 to 20%) completes the whole by offering a beautiful fruity roundness. This blend is rounded out with 45% of carefully selected reserve wines.
