2011 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru (Chardonnay)
Chateau de la Maltroye Romanee vintage, from Chassagne-Montrachet appellation, is produced from Chardonnay vines growing on terrace-plantings. This Burgundy aged 12 months in oak with 70% new oak. The 2011 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Romanée displays green-tinted straw hue with citrus fragrances (orange, or lemon), but also hints of chalk mineral. The palate is pure and refreshing, with a touch of iodine on the finish.
