Description
A tribute to Denis Dubourdieu, a refined and great Sauternes wine
The estate
An 1855 Sauternes Premier Grand Cru Classé, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is one of the most prestigious names in the iconic sweet wine appellation located in the south of the Bordeaux region.
The vineyard
Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey boasts an exceptional terroir of around 30 hectares within the Sauternes appellation.
The wine
2015 is the last vintage to be vinified by Denis Dubourdieu, an illustrious oenologist, teacher and researcher who founded the Institut de la Vigne et du Vin, but also a major contributor in the modernisation of winegrowing practices in Bordeaux. The label is adorned with the words "Tribute to Denis Dubourdieu".
The blend
Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 2015 comprises a blend of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle.
The tasting
Colour
This wine is a beautiful golden straw colour.
Nose
The nose is very fine, mixing floral and fruity fragrances (candied fruits) with citrus and spice aromas along with perfect botrytrised notes.
Palate
Crystalline, the palate is seduced by this wine’s elegance as well as its richness. Pure and balanced, the palate is sustained by a racy freshness and a beautiful length. The finish is lively and carried by a superb acidity.
