Description
2011 Pomerol from Bordeaux
Chateau Rouget vines are planted on a 17-hectare gentle slope located in Pomerol plateau, near the village and the old church. The 2011 Chateau Rouget is a blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot produced from vines averaging 40 years old.
The vintage displays an intense, garnet-tinted purple colour. The intense and spicy nose exudes currant, blackberry, plum, and mint. The wine is ample and offers very rich flavours of plum, black fruits, and vanilla. The harmonious and generous 2011 Chateau Rouget reveals light mineral and coated toasted notes. The palate is laced with structured and rich tannins that lead to persistent and complex finish with cardamom and a touch of chocolate.
