Domaine de la Pousse d'Or : Volnay 1er cru "Clos d'Audignac" Monopole 2011

2011 Volnay Premier Cru Clos D'Audignac Monopole of Domaine de la Pousse d'Or is an elegant and distinguished burgundy wine; it is the perfect ambassador of its terroir. It enjoys a good North/East orientation and its subsoil is dominated by Argovian calcareous marlstone with, partially, calcareous-clay screes from the Bathonian. This wine is a 100% Pinot Noir aged on lees in oak barrels (20% of new barrels) for 15 months. One can detect a good aromatic complexity that mixes vanilla, liquorice and caramel notes with a rich and full-bodied taste.
