The estate

Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, in Meursault, Domaine du Château de Meursault is one of Burgundy's most iconic estates. Steeped in over 1000 years worth of history, Domaine du Château de Meursault is a treasured reference among the very finest Meursault wines and is currently owned by the Halley family.

The vineyard

The 2018 Meursault Premier Cru "Les Charmes" by Domaine du Château de Meursault stems from a 1.6-hectare terroir that is planted on soils composed of hard Jurassic limestone and marly limestone.

Vinification and ageing

Once the grapes have been harvested by hand, they are slowly and progressively pressed. Following static settling, the must is then placed in oak barrels for alcoholic fermentation. Each plot is vinified and aged separately in order to preserve the authentic expression of its terroir of origin. Each barrel is rigorously surveilled throughout the vinification process. The wine is aged for 15 to 18 months in oak barrels (35% new oak as well as first and second-fill barrels). The barrels are blended before bottling.
