In the heart of the Côte de Beaune, in Meursault, the Château de Meursault is one of the legendary wine estates in Burgundy. With a history of over 1000 years, Château de Meursault is a true Burgundian gem, now owned by the Halley family.
The Château de Meursault watches over an exceptional vineyard in the Côte-d'Or, spread over 65 hectares from Puligny-Montrachet to Aloxe-Corton.
Château de Meursault owns a 2.8-hectare vineyard in the Meursault terroir. The 2018 Meursault Village "du Château" wine by the Domaine du Château de Meursault comprises a blend of five east and south-east facing plots located at the bottom and in middle of the hillside. This terroir is unique due its numerous soil types (clay-limestone, stony, calcareous alluvium, brown calcareous).
The vinification and ageing
The hand-picked grapes are rigorously sorted. The vinification is carried out in a plot by plot manner in order to enhance the expression of each terroir. Alcoholic fermentation in oak barrels, as well as ageing on fine lees for a period of 12 to 15 months in barrels (35% new barrels as well as first and second fill barrels).
This 2018 Meursault Village "du Château" by the Domaine du Château de Meursault is a 100% Chardonnay.
Round and complex, the nose gives off fragrances of vanilla and smoke.
The mouth seduces with its balance, length and minerality.

This fine white Burgundy wine is ideal with a crab casserole with cream, a salmon tartar or a slice of foie gras.
